Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development Kenya

Mandate and service platform

A facilitative service platform, not just representation

ICCDK's service lines exist to make Kenyan enterprises' access to the wider ICCD and OIC ecosystem practical and credible. Every activated service line operates as a Secretariat department for its first five years, under Board resolution, with its own budget, cost center, complaints route, and service charter.

Trade Facilitation & Market Access

Business matching, trade missions, market intelligence, and export positioning for Kenyan enterprises entering regional and international markets.

ICCDK connects Kenyan exporters to OIC markets and global buyers through trade missions, B2B matchmaking, and participation in international Islamic trade and halal forums, while supporting businesses in meeting export requirements — halal compliance, documentary standards, and logistics coordination among them.

Halal Services & Standards Liaison

Facilitative support for halal certification, standards coordination, and value-chain visibility for members who are Halal Certified.

ICCDK provides facilitative support in Kenya to the specialized halal organs of OIC and ICCD Global, helping certified members navigate certification pathways, standards alignment, supply-chain validation, and sector readiness across food, beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, logistics, tourism, and lifestyle products.

Islamic Finance Advisory

Knowledge exchange, ecosystem support, and institutional dialogue around Sharia-aligned finance and ethical capital mobilization.

ICCDK advances uptake of Islamic banking, takaful, sukuk financing, and venture or angel capital models, supporting financial product development with local and international institutions and building market awareness through advisory dialogue and investor linkages.

Licensing & Establishment Support

Structured help navigating the legal, operational, and compliance steps behind cross-border commercial activity.

ICCDK offers structured support for market entry and institutional setup, helping members navigate Kenyan legal, operational, and regulatory requirements alongside sector-specific approvals where relevant.

Certificates of Origin Support

Facilitative trade-document support tied to Halal-certified exporters and OIC-bound goods.

In coordination with Kenyan authorities, ICCDK supports the issuance and authentication of certificates of origin for OIC-bound goods, strengthening exporter credibility and transaction readiness for members who are Halal Certified.

Dispute Assistance & Commercial Facilitation

Early-stage dispute support, business confidence measures, and referral pathways into recognized arbitration institutions.

ICCDK provides early-stage dispute assistance and referral pathways into recognized arbitration and alternative dispute resolution institutions — including OIC-linked bodies — when a member's dispute requires it.

Capacity Building & Training

Workshops, entrepreneurship programs, and skills training across Sharia-conscious business practice and export readiness.

ICCDK runs workshops on Sharia-compliant business practices, ethical leadership, and halal certification, alongside entrepreneurship development programs and sector-specific skills training — with particular attention to youth- and women-led enterprises.
